Hey, sorry to bug ya'll with this but I simply have run out of ideas other than asking.

I've been looking for the name and artist of this song they used on a bump probably about a year ago, It's got some chill break-beat style drums and super smooth jazz guitar. It also has some record scratching and very strange cloudy sounding chords on the keyboard backing it up. It's almost 4:20 in length(don't ask why I remember that). It starts right off with a record scratch then the drums do a tiny snare fill to start the beat, the bass lays on top of that, a minute later the beat kinda does a little drop and comes back with the keyboard chords, then continues on for another minute or so then drops again and comes back with the jazz guitar laying a solo and melody over the rest of the song.

Anyway hopefully that will ring some bells to somebody so I can quit looking for it, it's been drivin' me crazy for a long time. Thanks a lot for your time. Cheers!

Bug away! I can't promise results but it is what we do here  the description isn't clicking with me at the moment... I seem to have a song that's taken up residence in my skull and can't I shake it... was there any visual thing you recall that goes with that?

I'm a little afraid to ask... how do you know how long this song is if it's from a bump?  :|  They typically last only 15 seconds... older ones could top out at 30, and special event bumps and promos at around a minute. Might you have been watching an episode of 'Off the Air?' There is the random music video that will pop up, but the one's I can recall running in the past year were anything but chill.

If anyone else has bells ringing, post up! In the meantime, I think I'll try to dig up some links.

Thanks for the reply, I don't remember what the bump looked like unfortunately.
The reason I know how long the song is is because I received an unmarked burnt cd with the tune on it long ago. I never was told who it was by though and the person I got it from doesn't know anything either. It was a while later I heard a small clip of it on a bump. I'm positive it was a bump and not a music video.

If you want to hear it, it's the first song on this playlist: http://8tracks.com/namedatsong/name-the-first-two-songs

Hopefully that helps narrow it down, if nothing else, it's a really cool song to listen to, even if you can't provide any answers..

That's "Soulbath" by The Clifford Gilberto Rhythm Combination from the album 'I Was Young and I Needed The Money'

Bumps we have by the same artist: http://www.bumpworthy.com/by_artist.php?art=293
We haven't heard anything by them in about a year.

Also, if that second track is still unknown, it's "The Exploding Psychology" by Squarepusher from the album 'Go Plastic'

YES!! That's it. Thank you so much man, I am one step closer to dying happily.

Alechondo

Holy cheese! You knew the other track too, thanks a ton!

NumyMufn, you're safe to do bad things, because I think you've stored up more good karma than anyone I know.

NumyMufn

... or maybe I'm making up for bad things I've already done
