Normally it's only seen on analog feeds. Cable and little dish shouldn't be affected. Unless the cable provider's dish is out of alignment.

Although Puerto Rico is on the fringe or outside of most U.S. serving satellite's footprints. If your source is cable, it shouldn't matter.

Could someone explain to me again what it is that I need to get to change VHS into DVD? (I'm going to upload stuff)

And is it really expensive? I hope with my summer job I can buy whatever it is and from there all I need is the DVD Decrypter and an encrypting thing which are both downloadable right?

Mongo & Beefy are probably the best ones to ask... I have a dual deck VHS to DVD recorder but then I still have to convert it to DivX to upload.

Yay Crab!!!!! Sup bro, hope everything's fine.

Zeni, to transfer something from VHS to DVD you could a) get the deck or b) get a capture card (which would record directly to the PC, the DVD would be done after capturing). Once you have the card, you plug the audio and video ins into the card and record it to your computer with software that is normally supplied by the card, or just any capture software. It's not really expensive, say from $100 and upwards. With that route, you'll have it encoded on your computer and then can burn it into a DVD, for which software is available. In case you have a deck, once you pass the VHS to DVD you'll need to rip it to the PC, in which case you would use something like ImTOO DVD Ripper or whatever ripping software you prefer. Once ripped, you can edit it and transcode it to whatever format you want (or keep it like it is if it's ripped to the format of your liking). It's not too hard nor expensive. Check on websites like www.tigerdirect.com (Video Capture section) to find bargains, and if you need any help you are welcome to ask here

You basically have two routes to pick from if you want DVD and uploading ability:

1) VHS -> DVD (stand-alone DVD burner) -> Computer (ripped using DVD Decryptor) -> Upload in DivX or other format

OR

2) VHS -> Computer (captured using an internal or external capture device) -> DVD (using computer DVD burner) and upload in DivX or other format

I never worked with a stand-alone DVD burner, but I like the computer DVD burner route because it's more flexible with the authoring options. And for uploading videos, once it's captured to the computer you can put it in whatever format you want.

ok I thought of something. What if I used a digital camera and put the VHS in my tv with the volume high and recorded it from the camera then uploaded that? Would that work too?

It's possible. Just make sure your camera can record video at a high enough frame rate, or else you might see the scan lines from the TV in your recorded video.

Hello again, everyone. Thanks to the one night only run of most of them, I was only able to get a few of the Comic-Con bumps. Real sad, they rocked. There was also one this Sunday before Lucy that I couldn't get, but that might run again on the Metalocalypse premiere. About the Metalocalypse bump, saw that yesterday, it's hilarious!
