Honestly, that sounds like a library track, especially since it's in a promo. Hopefully it isn't.
but the music must exist somewhere
Music always exists. It's only about whether or not you can get your grubby little mitts on it. *shrug*
doesn't anyone have the app that you make your phone listen to music and it figures out what the song is?
does that only work for mainstream songs?
That doesn't work for library tracks and/or very obscure songs :|. I just tried it, no results.
It may help to describe what a "library track" is. Those are songs that are just made for television, promotional materials, and other such things. They're not typically released like actual albums are, or as mp3s through iTunes, etc. They're not for mass distribution in other words and can't be bought like normal by you or me. The closest alternative is if the song can be found in an online library for online listening without download.
Someone else can flesh out this description if needed, I may not have done it justice.
You did a great job, Jeff. Thanks for helping out.
