Ummmm... good news and bad news, the original version of this song seems to be from a disc called The Wired CD which shipped with Wired Magazine, which is also a creative commons album  :-D That means that you can get the lovely digital goodness here http://www.moozackz.com/popups/mooz0002_02.html in MP3 and Apple Lossless. Yum yum. The bad part is that at the version in the commercial is a remix. Still, you can purchase it on iTunes http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?i=331595262&id=331595183&s=143441

P.S. Here's a link straight from Wired about the album, it doesn't offer lossless download but it adds to the validity of the album. http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/12.11/sample.html

The original version sounds nothing like the one in the promo. I checked a few Youtube links.

and here too:

Any idea where I could get the one in the promo? (PM me if you can't post here for obvious reasons :P )

To the best of my knowledge it was remixed by Dangermouse specifically for Williams Street. He released "What U Sittin On?' at least two years after the promo hit the air. For a long time I thought he had obtained it from them not the other way around. Rumor has it he was working under the pseudonym 'Pelican City' at the time.

I didn't listen to these all the way through but they all sound like remixes. One even says it s 26" remix and if you listen to the opening lyrics they all say "twenty six inches". You can hear the promo in the amazon sample: http://www.amazon.com/What-U-Sittin-On-Explicit/dp/B002P316HG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1256924391&sr=8-2
Still, it's not exactly what [as] has nor is it instrumental. It's the same sort of thing we've run into with some of Flying Lotus' stuff where what he's officially released is tweaked from what he gave [as]

Thanks for that link. Sounds pretty close - if not - the same beat. Not a big fan of the lyrics on it though.. :\ What a shame. Mmmmaybe if I can locate the instrumentals somewhere. :D

Oh...  I'm not crazy about the iTunes store myself, but you can buy the CD (Ghetto Pop Life) from CDUniverse in this link http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/music/pid/6245229/a/Ghetto+Pop+Life.htm among other places. Instrumentals I know nothing about, sadly  :| not the best lyrics, I agree on that one.
