First of all, there's not much need for a bunch of moderators here.  That being said, I am extremely picky about who I will let help out around here.

My suggestions are as follows:  Get to know the current moderators.  Show your knowledge of the music.  I haven't done much moderator recruiting, but I can tell you that recommendations from current moderators are a huge plus.  I keep an eye out for people who are helping a lot, for example, on the Missing Items & Requests board.

Very true. I also recommend if you have any bumps that we're missing (assuming the case being you want to provide bumps), make a thread in the forums and upload to rapidshare, so we can all see important aspects like quality.
