A live Halloween dj set for 300 Trick or Treaters on the porch.... Some children ran in terror but most loved it. The kids that fled caught some scary groove. Oh well, more candy for me.  It was a night of vintage Halloween music alongside frightening downtempo/electronica.

Well, if you two like that, checkout inside....  You should both come up next Halloween.  We'll fly you in Mongo...  B.W. will pay for your travel expenses!  By the way, I did all of the decorating.  Below is myself with a couple of friends.

Man I can't wait for this Halloween. Especially because Rock Band 3 comes out a few days before.

Ryan D.

When are the makers of Guitar Hero, Rock Band 1-3 and the DJ one going to make a Jazz Band Video/Music game?  I'd buy that.  They'd sell a whole seven copies in the U.S.  BTW, I died last Halloween.  It's no laughing matter. :x  We very serious.

Here is a link for a 1970's/80's Halloween safety video.  It's probably the best thing that I've ever seen, for Halloween Nostalgia.

The below link should be mandatory Halloween listening on here.  Fred & Daily have a free EP entitled "Mask Cemetery".  The tracks "Who am I Tonight?" and "Here Come the Dead" are really something.  They use all kinds of nostalgic Halloween samples in and around their music.  When I listen to this album, I hear everything from fuzzy rock to downtempo/electronica/freaky stuff.  You can read all about them here...

Like the Fred & Daily post above, this too is a must have free Halloween Music Download (a lot of original Electronica/Production tracks)

Hallowe'en is coming.  Here's another interesting free Halloween sounds/music internet download.  This one's from Silber Music...

There are thirty tracks on this thing.  I'd like to point out seven cuts that stand out (in my opinion).

Track
5. Have You Seen the Ghost of John? - The Undermasks
* I remember singing a more western/modern melodic version of this old Halloween carol in kindergarten.

6. Haunted House Song  - Planet Cock
* A vintage rock sound reminiscent of Disney's "Grim Grinning Ghosts".

8.  Magic at the Beach - Miss Massive Snowflake
* A very deep, spoken electro poetry track that is completely off the wall, talking about some guy in a gorilla suite, going bananas, on the beach, at Halloween, and much more.

11. What shall i sing? - Attrition
* Quite a scary soundscape of evil innocence.  A clever title, most likely inspired by the poem read by the main little boy character in 1961's "The Innocents", starring Debra Kerr, a film that was paid tribute in Nicole Kidman's "The Others".  (I think that the poem was written for the film)  The poem goes...

What shall I sing to my lord from my window?
What shall I sing for my lord will not stay?
What shall I sing for my lord will not listen?
Where shall I go when my lord is away?
Whom shall I love when the moon is arisen?
Gone is my lord and the grave is his prison.
What shall I say when my lord comes a calling?
What shall I say when he knocks on my door?
What shall I say when his feet enter softly?
Leaving the marks of his grave on my floor.
Enter my lord. Come from your prison.
Come from your grave, for the moon is a risen.

14. The Three Witches - Tara Vanflower
* Creepy/Demonic/other worldly witches whispering among themselves.  It turns into a freakout.

15. A Few Notes from a Grave - Remora
* A nice little number reminiscent of John Carpenter film scores.

22. Does Your River Run Deep - Cam Butler
* This sounds like 007 got an orchestra to record a Halloween theme for his October release circa 1968.

Make sure that you don't miss out on these two other great free Halloween comps too...

The Swim should be jumping all over these cuts for new Halloween bumps!
